Sanjay Namdeo

Sanjay Namdeo is currently serving as the Director for Clean Energy Transition at the International Copper Association’s (ICA) projects in India. He is actively working for advancing the cause of UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through various initiatives including industrial energy efficiency, solar irrigation, market development for energy efficient equipment like electrical motors, fans, pumps, compressors etc. He has more than 18 years of experience in the energy efficiency & sustainability domain.

In his previous role with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) as Principal Counsellor, he successfully implemented industrial energy efficiency initiatives including energy audits in India and abroad, energy efficiency program design and implementation, large scale projects implementation, training and development, joint courses with Institutions like IITs, Thapar University etc.

He has also played a key role in supporting MSME sector in improving the energy efficiency, implementation of projects funded by various agencies including BEE, EESL, World Bank, Global Environment Facility, UNIDO, SIDBI, etc.

Jointly with the clean and green technology providers, in his past roles he played a key role in market development for clean tech through implementation facilitation and extending end to end solutions to industry.

Sanjay holds a postgraduate degree – Master of Technology with specialization in Energy Management from Devi Ahilya University, Indore and a Graduate Degree – Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from MITS, Gwalior. He is active member in various technical committees and Institutions such as Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), School of Energy & Environment Studies, Thapar University, School of Energy, Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya etc.

He is also an Accredited and Certified Energy Auditor from Bureau of Energy Efficiency, IRCA certified ISO50001 Lead Auditor and is a well-known faculty in the domain of energy efficiency & management. A sustainability enthusiast, he is also working on economics of net zero transition.
