India Copper Forum 2015
26th Nov 2015, St. Regis Hotel, Lower Parel (Palladium Hotel) Mumbai.
9:00 am to 6:00 pm
International Copper Association India (ICA India) is proud to bring together India’s copper fraternity to congregate and deliberate the opportunities and challenges faced by the industry over an exclusive platform, India Copper Forum 2015. Inviting key stakeholders to discuss industry trends, challenges and market insights including the Indian regulatory framework.
The India Copper Forum will be seeking experts to answers to questions like:
- How will ‘Make in India’ and ‘Housing for All’ campaign shape up future copper demand?
- How does the copper industry look at FTAs and its impact on the domestic fabricators?
- How will the industry deal with issues on lack of standards and codes, quality marking norms?
- Where is the next new demand for copper to come from?
The performance of the copper industry is directly correlated with the performance of sectors like power, construction, telecom, automobile and on demand for products like power cables, transformers, generators, radiators, and other ancillary components. Hence, the copper industry’s growth is closely linked to the country’s economic and industrial growth.
Policy bottlenecks have been India’s bane for achieving higher growth targets which the current government promises to address. The domestic consumption is said to accelerate through various initiatives under ‘Make in India’ and ‘Housing for All’. The robust increase in domestic activity such as rapid urbanization, huge infrastructure projects, smart cities, industrial corridors, modernization of ports, airports, rails and electricity grids suggest reinforcement in local copper consumption.
There has been a shift, right from market fundamentals to roles of industry players in the last few years. With this many are looking forward to improvement in market conditions with the support of Indian Government.
